Congratulations!
You just took the first step to create change in your life. Whether you hopped onto this page by accident or intentionally sought me out, you are ready for something new. If you have been seeing frogs, hearing the ribbet, or maybe even dreaming of our froggy friends, it may be a sign that Kambo is calling you.
My name is Tim Steep and it is my honor to facilitate this meeting between you and the frog.
You may have a lot of questions. Lets start at the beginning and talk a little bit about the frog itself.
WHAT IS KAMBO
Kambo has many names. The scientific name is Phyllomedusa Bicolor. Some of the other names are Kampu, Acate, Dow-kiet, or the Giant Waxy Tree Frog.
Our frog friend has a distinct green color with a whiteish or yellowish belly and black markings. It is a nocturnal creature that lives in the trees along river banks or near a water source.
The frogs reproduce all year long, but November through May, high water season in the Amazon, is their peak time. The female will build a leaf nest in the branches of a tree overhanging the water where she will deposit up to 600 eggs. Once the eggs hatch, the tiny tadpoles drop into the water until they become mature frogs and move into the trees where they will live their best lives.
THE SECRETION
The substance we call Kambo and what you’ll receive if you schedule a session is the frog’s natural protection from predators, and also the sun! Yup, that’s right – this frog applies sun screen! Check out this adorable video of the frog in action.
Ok, enough cuteness for now, back to the secretion. Scientists have been studying this section for years trying to figure out all the good stuff inside this goopy liquid. While they cannot synthesize it no matter what they do and they’re continuously learning more about it, what they have found in abundance inside this gooey substance are things called bioactive peptides.
Let’s break that down a bit. A peptide is a compound formed by linking one or more amino acids in a chain, connected by special bonds. A bioactive peptide is an amino acid chain that performs a specific biological function that produces a positive impact on the human body.
Ok, cool, why does that matter?
It matters because this is the magic that is Kambo. Our body recognizes this substance, and when these bioactive peptides enter our body our cell receptors say “HI!” and open to allow it deep access. You see, when foreign stuff enters our body, our cells do not just “open” and let them in. The uninvited invaders simply break into the cells and make a home, and this can cause dis-ease in the body. When we apply Kambo, our cells recognize it and unlock with no stress, giving those invaders who weren’t invited to the party a kick in the pants to vacate the premises. Think of Kambo as a helping hand in scrubbing our cells clean. It goes in and removes the dirt that our body is not naturally able to deal with alone, strengthening and fortifying our cells in the process.
Scientists have identified many of the peptides and are still finding more. If you would like to read more about the individual peptides click the link below.
